PLEXIPAVE®

The world's leading acrylic surface for tennis courts

Plexipave® is the world’s leading acrylic surface for tennis courts, recognized for its vibrant color and high resistance to UV rays. Its high-performance texture system ensures consistent ball bounce and secure footing for players.

This material stands out as one of the most important surfaces globally. It was the official surface of the Australian Open from 2008 to 2020, demonstrating its quality and reliability on the most demanding stages of world tennis.

Plexipave® is durable, environmentally friendly, and safe. It is also renowned for its extremely low maintenance costs, making it a smart long-term investment.

Players and professionals value Plexipave® for its consistent ball bounce and spin. Its anti reflective finish enhances on-court visibility while providing secure footing with reliable grip and traction. The high-quality resins used in Plexipave® create a smooth-textured surface that reduces wear on both tennis balls and shoes.

Advantages of Plexipave® Surfaces

Our Plexipave® surfaces are the smart choice for any tennis court. They are not only durable and retain vibrant colors for longer, but they are also cost-effective and very easy to maintain. Just water and mild detergents are enough to keep the playing surface in top condition. One of their greatest advantages is that, over time, you can renew the surface without having to completely remove the existing layer, simplifying and reducing the cost of the process.

At Universal Sport Instalaciones, we offer a complete service, whether you need a full renovation of your current tennis court or the construction of an entirely new one. The ideal solution will depend on the condition of your facility. We will provide honest advice if a court is too deteriorated and not worth restoring, always guaranteeing you the best investment.

3 systems to choose from offering different degrees of speed for the courts.

There are three systems to choose from that offer different degrees of speed for the courts. The International Tennis Federation ITF has classified our different systems.

Plexipave® IW

Category: ITF 1
Speed: Slow

For those who want a slower surface to compensate for weather effects, altitude or simply slow down the pace of play.

Plexipave® Standard

Category: ITF 3
Speed: Medium

Considered by many to be the best combination of consistency, pace and safety. Plexipave Standard is the traditional surface system and the one most installed by our customers.

Plexipave® HU

Category: ITF 4
Speed: medium / fast

Ideal for training players on fast surfaces. This finishing system is commonly installed in high level tennis schools.

  • The Plexipave® colour system is a durable finish with superior resistance to UV deterioration.
  • Plexipave® is made from 100% acrylic latex with a rich colour formulation for application over asphalt.
  • Plexipave® finish layers are available in thirteen standard colors. We also offer a range of special colors.

Plexicushion®. Constant bounce, safety and durability.

The Plexicushion® system combines the consistent bounce, safety and durability of Plexipave® with the innovated cushioning properties created by EPDM rubber.

The Plexicushion® substrate is composed of a special blend of latex, rubber, and plastic particles, which form a flexible layer that responds to the impact generated by a player’s body thus reducing stress on the muscles. The 100% acrylic layers of the Plexipave® surface develop a uniform bounce, durable colours and allow for a choice of the courts pace.

The result is a surface that responds to the impact generated by the player’s body thus reducing stress on the legs, knees, ankles and feet.

Multiple layers of cushioning extend the ‘orthopaedic life’ of all players – from young players just starting out in competition to older players enjoying recreational tennis.

Plexipave® surface layers deliver a uniform and consistent bounce while protecting the underlying layers from ultraviolet light.

This rubber layer system is made with 16.5% recycled materials.

Plexicushion Prestige®

The original and undisputed champion in flexible tennis finishes. This system is composed of SBR and EPDM rubbers, compressed plastic particles and mineral fibres bound with aquatic polymers.

Plexicushion Competition®

Combines the force reduction of the Plexitrac system with the special consistency of Plexicushion®. The ultimate in cushioning systems.

Plexicushion 2000®

The first flexible finishing system designed to be applied over small joint finishes with minimal movement. The combination of a dense fibreglass sheet and a semi-flexible adhesive creates a stable surface with only minimal movement at the base.

Plexicushion Tournament®

Identical to the Plexicushion Prestige® finish, but with one less base coat and therefore more economical.

  • The Plexipave® colour system is a durable finish with superior resistance to UV deterioration.
  • Plexipave® is made from 100% acrylic latex with an intense colour formulation for application over asphalt.
  • Plexipave® topcoats are available in thirteen standard colours. Special colours are also available.

Plexipave® is also appreciated for its consistent ball bounce and spin. The anti-reflective finish enhances visibility while providing a secure footprint with predictable grip and traction. High quality resins provide a smooth textured surface that reduces wear and tear on tennis balls and shoes.

Our Plexipave® surfaces are durable and brightly coloured, as well as being cost effective and easy to maintain. Only water and mild detergents are needed to clean the playing surface and, over time, the court surface can be renewed without having to completely remove the old surface.

Universal Sport Instalaciones can offer a complete renovation service for any existing tennis court or a complete new build – the actual solution will depend on the condition of the court. We can advise you if a court is too deteriorated or it is not cost effective to try to restore it.

Plexipave® offers three options to choose from that will meet the requirements of any level of play. All are certified by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Plexipave® IW- ITF Category 1- Pace: Slow

This category specialises in a much slower surface, mainly suitable for training and coaching and is also used to change the pace of play at famous tournaments such as the Paribas Indian Wells in California.

Plexipave® Standard- ITF Category 3- Pace: Medium
